VOICES FOR EDUCATION CONCERT

NC School of Science and Math
The next DCC concert, Voices for Education, will be held in the Auditorium at NC School of Science and Math, corner of W. Club Blvd and Broad St., on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 3:00 PM. Our choir will share the performance with Spotlight, the Durham Public Schools all-county show choir. Included here are instructions for purchasing tickets for the event, a schedule for the rehearsals and performance, and chaperone needs.
1. Tickets General Admission:$15 Premier Seating:$25
Since this event is a benefit for the public schools in Durham, there will be no comp. tickets available. You will receive today in your envelope 4 general admission tickets and 2 premier seating tickets. Please sell as many as you can to family and friends, enclose the checks or cash in the envelope and return the envelope WITH UNSOLD TICKETS to me or Mrs. Byers by Oct. 24. If you do not return the tickets, you must pay for them!
2. Schedule
Sat., Oct. 28 12 Noon-1 PM Rehearsal at NCSSM
Sun., Oct. 29 1:00-2:30 PM Run-through (if you are coming directly from church, remember to bring your outfit and a sandwich)
2:30 PM Snack Break
3:00-4:30 PM Performance
Our new vests are in and are being embroidered with the DCC logo. We will wear the complete new outfit for this event.
3. Chaperone needs
Sat.Rehearsal 2-4 parents to help line up singers on the stage, and to
assist in getting the choir on and off the stage
Sun. Rehearsal same as above
Sun. Performance parents to donate snacks and drinks for the break
parents to help set up food, clean up
2-4 parents to help back stage during the performance (you will be able to see our kids perform once they are on stage by slipping in the back doors of the auditorium)

News items for the next two weeks
1. AUDITIONS FOR SOLOS DURING THE YEAR: there will be NO SOLO AUDITIONS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE REHEARSAL NEXT TUESDAY, OCT. 24. Mrs. Hill will hear anyone who would like to audition for a solo from 4-4:30 this coming week, Oct. 24 and before and after the rehearsal on Nov. 7.
2. The rehearsal scheduled for Halloween,Tuesday, Oct. 31 will be a one-hour rehearsal only for those singers going to the Biltmore House on Nov. 26. The rehearsal will end at 5:30 PM.
